Mission
At Zelestra, we are looking for a Substation/Interconnection Specialist Engineer for San Martin PFV, whose mission will be to operate and maintain electrical substations, transmission lines, and medium-voltage equipment in the solar park, with a focus on production optimization, maintenance plan compliance, and availability and performance KPIs, all in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety standards, internal guidelines, and applicable procedures.
Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for implementing maintenance procedures for each task according to the operation and maintenance manuals, performing preventive and/or corrective maintenance on substation and medium-voltage equipment in the solar park (transformers, cables, medium-voltage switchgear, protection relays), preparing maintenance reports, and maintaining communication with the park’s internal clients. All of this must be carried out with a strong awareness of the risks present in solar parks, how to prevent them, and how to respond to incidents.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the operation of substation equipment and systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure the correct operation of circuit breakers, transformers, capacitor banks, protection, and control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to substation and medium-voltage equipment in the solar park.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other teams and ensure safety standards are met.
- Collaborate on expansion, modernization, and improvement projects in substations.
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Ensure that projects are executed according to technical, budgetary, and time requirements.
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports on time.
- Comply with the company’s safety and environmental policies and adhere to current regulations.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with supervisors, the work team, and stakeholders.
- Operate the plant in accordance with the O&M manual and system operator requirements.
- Maintain constant coordination with the Remote Operations Center (ROC) and intervene in equipment as required by the ROC.
- Report operational and corrective events in real time to the ROC and the work team.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Health regulations and procedures.
- Assist in warehouse supply review, stock levels, spare parts, and materials.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports using GMAO software and other reporting tools.
- Contribute to the integration of safety and health measures in the workplace.
Job Requirements
- Electrical Engineer or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in solar plants.
- Intermediate proficiency in office software tools.
- Knowledge of communication systems, SCADA, and video surveillance.
- Availability to work in a rotating shift system.
