Senior Solar Plant Operator

Mission

At Zelestra, we are looking for Senior Operator Technicians for our San Martin Photovoltaic Plant (La Joya, Perú). Their mission will be to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of solar farms, with a strong focus on production optimization, compliance with maintenance plans, availability and performance KPIs, and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety standards, internal guidelines, and applicable procedures. This role will also coordinate and supervise the work brigades.

Additionally, they will be responsible for implementing maintenance procedures for each task in accordance with operation and maintenance manuals, performing preventive and/or corrective maintenance on plant equipment (inverters, tracking systems, protection relays), preparing maintenance reports, and maintaining communication with internal park stakeholders. All of this must be done with a high awareness of risks present in the solar farms, how to prevent them, and how to respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems and control operations.
• Ensure compliance with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Complete maintenance reports on time.
• Comply with the company’s safety and environmental policies.
• Maintain constant communication and provide timely information to supervisors, the work team, and stakeholders.
• Operate the plant according to the O&M manual and system operator requirements.
• Maintain ongoing coordination with the Remote Operations Center (ROC) and intervene in equipment based on ROC requirements.
• Prepare real-time reports on operational and corrective events for ROC and the work team.
• Comply with all regulations and procedures related to Quality, Environment, Safety, and Health.
• Assist in reviewing warehouse supply levels, stock, spare parts, and materials.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports, both in written reports and in the GMAO system.
• Collaborate on actions required to integrate safety and health measures within their work area.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations and maintenance, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
• Advanced proficiency in office software tools.
• Knowledge of communication systems, SCADA, and video surveillance.
• Availability to work in shifts.
• Valid driver's license.
