Role Overview

The Assistant Controller plays a critical role in managing accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls for Zelestra US.  Reporting to the Head of Tax & Accounting, this position provides key support to senior leadership and other departments by delivering forward-looking analyses, building driver-based financial models, implementing processes, preparing, and presenting financial reports and presentations, and other ad hoc requests that assists in the development and execution of the Company's Projects, contributing to the increase in the value of Zelestra.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field; MBA or MS preferred.
  • CPA
  • 7–10 years progressive finance/accounting experience with 4+ years in public accounting with hands-on experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
  • Proficient at financial modeling; fluent with Excel, sensitivity analysis, and pivot tables (Power BI and Tableau are a plus).
  • Prior FP&A experience is a plus.
  • Ability to take ownership of multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Prior renewable energy experience preferred.
  • Highest level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex financial data clearly
  • Proven attention to detail, organizational discipline, and critical thinking
  • Self-starter with strong time management and leadership presence

Role Responsibility

Financial Reporting, Compliance & Controls

  • Manage all US accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, consolidations, and technical accounting matters.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls as applicable to safeguard company assets.
  • Lead the accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual US financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Coordinate with Spanish parent company as applicable for reporting and consolidation purposes using IFRS.
  • Assist with tax preparation and research for federal and state direct and indirect taxes.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors as applicable, ensuring seamless and timely execution of accounting, Audit, and tax-related services.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Collaborate with functional/department leads to gather budget/forecast inputs and deliver decision-support.
  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Drive long-term financial planning while supporting Treasury with forecasting cash flow and working capital needs based on project timelines and operational requirements.

The salary for this position typically ranges from minimum to mid-point annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
