Mission

At Zelestra, we are looking for a Plant Manager for Colombia. The main mission will be to participate in defining the maintenance plan for the plants in their portfolio and to supervise its timely and efficient implementation, leading the teams working in the plants that make up the portfolio. In this regard, the Plant Manager will need to coordinate the global service management for photovoltaic solar energy projects within their area of responsibility, maintaining constant and fluid communication with key stakeholders, such as other Zelestra departments, contractors, and other relevant parties. The aim is to optimize the results of the region while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality parameters defined by the organization, in line with contractual conditions and current regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation and management of compliance with technical project contracts: PPA, Interconnection Agreement, Electric Grid Code, Operation and Maintenance Agreement, technical aspects derived from financial contracts.
  • Lead the O&M team and contractors, coordinating the various zone supervisors.
  • Review and approve Annual Maintenance Plans.
  • Monitor corrective maintenance activities and major incidents.
  • Coordinate, centralize, and manage warranty claims with OEM manufacturers.
  • Coordinate the integration of new plants into the portfolio, receive documentation, contracts, provisional acceptance certificates, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with warranties for the O&M contracts under their responsibility.
  • Coordinate and ensure the success of the final acceptance tests by the EPC.
  • Supervise and approve purchases of main equipment, ensure optimal stock management, and approve the selection of subcontractors.
  • Monitor production and efficiency indicators for projects and compare technical performance with expectations in financial contracts.
  • Ensure the accuracy of instrumentation equipment.
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and annual reports on production and incident follow-up.
  • Optimize department activities, reducing operational costs, maximizing PR, and reducing downtime.
  • Liaise with various market agents (Distributor, Energy Commission, System Operator, etc.), coordinate energy dispatch, and manage access issues and conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with CSR and EHS policies.
  • Promote a safety culture and ensure that their team adopts the required measures to carry out their work safely.
  • Take all necessary actions within their scope to contribute to the achievement of safety, health, and environmental objectives set by management, as well as integrate preventive actions into their work area.

Job Requirements

 

  • Electrical Engineer or related degree.
  • Intermediate level of spoken and written English.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operations and maintenance management in the renewable energy sector (mandatory).
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and management skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the area of responsibility and to the central offices.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • SCADA / Substation SCADA / Soltec
    • Relay Configuration Software
    • IV Curves
    • Thermography
    • Driver's license
