MISSION

Create a strategic roadmap that includes expanding front-end planning, effective project management, standardizing operating procedures, implementing time-saving processes, mastering contractor management, and enhancing client communication

Mix of operational improvements in construction (lean workflows, deviation management) and a strong focus on strategy and innovation. This role will define installation concepts for construction operatives in renewables projects. Helping the Bus to deliver a ssuccessful construction projects with meticulous planning, efficient management, and adherence to standard operating procedures in Zelestra.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Global COO, this role will be responible for: 

 

  • Expanding Front-End Planning: Front-end planning is the foundation of successful construction projects. It involves thorough project evaluation, risk assessment, and feasibility studies. By investing time and resources in front-end planning, construction firms can identify potential challenges early, develop effective strategies, and establish realistic project goals. This proactive approach minimizes project delays and budget overruns.
  • Managing Projects More Effectively: Efficient project management is a cornerstone of construction excellence. Leveraging project management software is crucial in today’s digital age. These tools centralize project data, streamline tasks, and facilitate real-time communication among project stakeholders. Effective project management ensures that timelines are met, budgets are adhered to, and quality is maintained throughout the construction process.
  • Standardizing Operating Procedures: Standardizing operating procedures is key to consistency and quality in construction. By implementing standardized processes for tasks such as quality control, safety measures, and inspections, construction firms can reduce errors, minimize rework, and enhance overall project efficiency. Standardization ensures that every team member understands their roles and responsibilities, leading to a smoother workflow.
  • Implementing Time-Saving Processes: Time is of the essence in construction. To achieve excellence, construction firms should focus on time-saving processes. This includes efficient resource allocation, optimized scheduling, and the use of technology to automate repetitive tasks. By maximizing time efficiency, projects can be completed on schedule, reducing costs associated with delays.
  • Effective Contractor Management: Collaboration with contractors and subcontractors is a vital component of construction success. Effective contractor management involves clear communication, fair contract negotiations, and regular performance evaluations. Strong relationships with contractors ensure that project objectives are met, and potential issues are addressed promptly.
  • Enhancing Client Communications: Client satisfaction is paramount in construction excellence. Construction firms should prioritise client communications by providing regular project updates, addressing concerns promptly, and involving clients in decision-making processes. Transparent and open communication fosters trust and ensures that clients’ expectations are met or exceeded.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with strong technical background (project management qualifications are a plus).
  • At least 15 years of experience within the renewable energy industry working in asset management.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of Proven experience in project management in a international environment.
  • Experience working with PV/Wind/BESS assets construction.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful infrastructures and construction strategies and best practice.
  • Ability to promote interdependent Health and Safety culture.
  • Availability to travel.
  • General availability.
