Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer - Germany, the Project Developer Wind will manage development for specific projects in Germany (3-5 at a time) in the Zelestra development portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development of utility-scale wind energy projects (hybrid projects, e.g. wind and BESS) may be included in responsibility). Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, budgeting, and executing development activities, with the assistance of subject matter experts.
• Manage permitting process, securing interconnection agreements, engineering and design of projects, local and state governmental outreach. Develop and own project development budgets, schedules, and related inputs for financial modeling and recurring project assessments.
• Coordinate and support Zelestra’s various expert functions with development-specific input to ensure effective and efficient execution of  project realization including Development Engineering, Commercialization (PPA/EEG), EPC, Project Finance and Tax.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the evolving German market environment and regulatory framework and act on potential impacts to projects under development and advise on impacts to business development strategies.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders and project teams throughout the lifecyle of the project and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including landowners, local community members, and federal, state, and local officials.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in renewable energy project development (permitting, interconnection etc.) with demonstrable and successful track record bringing utility-scale wind energy projects or other renewable energy projects to ready-to-build.
• Candidates will have a strong market expertise, solid due diligence and communications skills, and proven experience in renewable energy project development.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship management skills. 
• A solid understanding of project economics and a commercially driven approach to developing projects.
• Team player who can excel in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary project team environment with the ability to adapt to change.
• Willingness and ability to travel if required by project.
• Proficient in German and English.
• Strong customer orientation and capability to win others over.
• Passion to lead the World towards a clean energy future.
