Your Role
In your role as Senior Accountant (f/m/x), you will play a key role in Zelestra’s German operations. You will oversee daily accounting activities and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for the entire German group. Working within a dedicated small team, you will help lay the groundwork for our future growth and scaling efforts. .
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP (HGB), and internal guidelines
- Prepare, reconcile, and analyze balance sheets and profit & loss statements on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis under IFRS and HGB
- Act as the primary contact for our internal shared service provider regarding transactional accounting
- Evaluate business transactions for recognition, valuation, and reporting requirements (IFRS, German GAAP, Tax GAAP)
- Independently prepare statutory financial statements according to HGB
- Assist in tax account preparation ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors and stakeholders
- Lead projects such as system migrations, restructuring initiatives, M&A activities, and other accounting projects
- Manage monthly cash-flow reporting to Treasury
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred
- Several years of professional experience in accounting/finance, ideally within the German renewable energy market
- Strong expertise in IFRS, German GAAP (HGB), and consolidation processes
- Proficient in SAP
- Excellent analytical skills with problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Business fluency in German and English (spoken and written)
- Hands-on mentality with professional communication skills in both languages
- Solution-oriented mindset with entrepreneurial thinking
- First leadership experience is advantageous along with stakeholder management skills
- Eagerness for continuous professional development
