Your Role

In your role as Senior Financial Controller (Accountant / Financial Statements), you play a key and fundamental role for Zelestra in Germany. You are responsible for the local day to day Accounting as well as for closings on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for the whole German group of Zelestra. You will work within a small team of dedicated colleagues and set the steps for scale up business.   

Responsibilities

• You are responsible to ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP (HGB) and internal guidelines. This includes the preparation, reconciliation and analysis of balance sheets and profit and loss statements on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for IFRS and local GAAP (HGB).
• Responsible focal point for our internal shared service provider regarding transactional accounting.
• Evaluation of business transactions on recognition, valuation and reporting requirements (IFRS, German GAAP and German Tax GAAP).
• Responsible for independent preparation of statutory financial statements according to German local GAAP (HGB) as well as for preparation of all accounting related statutory and legal reports.
• Assist in the preparation of tax accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Act as a first contact for external auditors and other stakeholders.
• Lead and conduct projects such as system migrations, restructuring, Mergers & acquisitions and other accounting initiatives.
• Monthly cash-flow reporting to Treasury.

Job Requirements

• Master degree or equivalent graduate in Accounting or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is desired.
• 5+ years of experience in field of expertise, ideally in German Renewables Energy market.
• Strong experience and technical knowlegde in IFRS, German GAAP and Consolidation of Accounts.
• Sound Experience in SAP.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Business fluent in German and English.
• Strong willingness to teamwork and collaborate.
• Strong customer orientation and capability to win others over.
• Passion to lead the World towards a clean energy future.
