Mission:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead the design and development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent design skills, and experience with BESS design software.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design of BESS, including electrical, mechanical, and thermal aspects.
  2. Develop and review detailed designs, calculations, and specifications.
  3. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC), safety regulations, and client requirements.
  4. Ensure that battery storage designs comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations, including those related to electrical systems, fire safety, and environmental impact.
  5. Develozp and implement safety protocols for battery handling, installation, and operation.
  6. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and field technicians, to ensure successful project execution.
  7. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in battery technologies and energy storage solutions, integrating new technologies and methodologies into design practices. Participate in research and development activities to explore innovative solutions for enhancing battery storage systems.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on BESS or related industries.

Requirement:

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  2. Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and methodologies (e.g., CAD, CAE).
  3. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  4. Experience with BESS design software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
  5. Must have knowledge of Plexos software designing
  6. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC) and regulatory requirements.
  7. Knowledge of different battery chemistries, including:
    1. Lithium-ion (Li-ion)
    2. Lead-acid
    3. Sodium-sulfur (NaS)
    4. Zinc-Air Battery
    5. Flow batteries
    6. Sodium-ion
  8. Knowledge of safety considerations for different battery chemistries, including:
    1. Thermal runaway and fire risk
    2. Toxicity and handling precautions
    3. Electrical shock and arc flash hazards
    4. Emergency response and firefighting procedure

Preferred Skills:

  1. Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  2. Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
  3. Knowledge of mechanical and thermal engineering principles.
  4. Experience with energy storage technologies (e.g., batteries, inverters).
