Procurement Specialist (Solar BOP)
Location:
Gurugram (Haryana), India
Mission:
The candidate will be responsible for develop and implement procurement strategies for solar projects to achieve cost savings, quality, and delivery targets. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for solar projects to achieve cost savings, quality, and delivery targets.
- Manage the procurement of Solar Modules, Inverters, Module Mounting Structure, Fastener, Inverter Duty Transformer, Cables, HT panel, String Combiner Box, Power Transformer, Civil Package, AC/DC Package, Plant Substation (Switchyard), Transmission Line, Batteries, Energy Storage Systems, and related components.
- Manage the procurement of consultancy packages: Geotech, Contour, Owner Engineer, Project management consultancy, inspection agency & others.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships to ensure optimal performance.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring alignment with company goals and project requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Lead commercial contract negotiations, including terms and conditions, pricing, delivery schedules, warranty, etc.
- Manage contract administration, including amendments and renewals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and align procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams to ensure procurement activities are in line with company policies and financial objectives.
Cost Management and Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement within the procurement function.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, support, and training.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on solar energy or renewable energy projects.
Requirement:
- Proven track record of successful vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost savings.
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
