MISSION
Reporting to Business Development Manager for Iberia, the Senior Business Developer will manage the origination of renewable energy projects in alignment with business targets and strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Market Analysis: Identify renewable energy market players in Iberia (potential clients, developers, advisors, competitors, industry experts, etc), gather market intelligence, track market trends and establish external relationships. Monitor regulatory changes, analyze grants and subsidies and detect new opportunities in the Iberian renewable sector.
- Strategy Development: Collaborate on greenfield acquisition strategies by analysing new opportunities from a financial viability perspective and assessing their alignment with the company’s strategy. Additionally, support the M&A team during the brownfield Due Diligence processes.
- Due Diligence analysis Supervision: Lead Due Diligence processes with external advisors (technical, legal and tax) and internal departments, oversee the collection of information and coordinate the sales process.
- Permitting Status: Check the status of required permits. Determine if any permits are still pending approval and if there are foreseeable challenges or delays in obtaining them.
- Renewal and Expiration Risks: Identify any permits with expiration dates that require renewal. Understand the process and timing for renewals to avoid interruptions in project development.
- Timing and Delays: Consider risks associated with delays in obtaining permits, which can impact the overall project timeline and financial outcomes.
- Contractual support: Review transaction documentation and assist in negotiating the terms of DSAs and SPAs to close transactions.
- Reporting assistance: Prepare periodic reports for Senior Management on the progress of ongoing acquisition process, Investment Committee updates, and other relevant matters.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or economic field.
- Strong background in renewables segment in Iberia, wind technology experience is desirable.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
