Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Renewable Business Development M&A Manager to lead acquisition and divestiture efforts in the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, BESS). This role will manage the full deal lifecycle—from origination and financial modeling to due diligence, negotiation, and closing. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally across development, finance, legal, and operations to drive strategic growth.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years in M&A, investment banking, or project finance—preferably in renewables.
- Proven track record managing complex energy transactions.
- Strong financial modeling, negotiation, and project management skills.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy markets and project development.
- Exceptional project management and communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership.
Role Responsibility
Deal Origination & Strategic Growth

- Source and evaluate acquisition and divestiture opportunities that align with company goals and regional strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with project developers, financial institutions, and advisory firms to generate qualified deal flow.
Due Diligence & Valuation

- Lead cross-functional due diligence efforts, coordinating inputs from finance, legal, engineering, project development, EPC, and operations.
- Oversee data room setup, Q&A tracking, documentation, and project timelines.
- Manage valuation models and conduct risk-adjusted financial analyses to support investment decisions.
Transaction Execution

- Own the full M&A process from opportunity review through deal closure, including letters of intent, term sheets, and final agreements.
- Lead negotiations in collaboration with legal counsel and internal stakeholders, ensuring terms are aligned with business objectives and risk tolerance.
Internal Collaboration & Alignment

- Work closely with internal teams to structure transactions that align with both short- and long-term strategic goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments and external advisors, maintaining clear communication and accountability throughout the transaction.
Team Development & Process Optimization

- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, supporting skill development and career growth.
- Drive continuous improvement of M&A practices by applying insights gained from past transactions and evolving market conditions.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Positioning

- Stay current on renewable energy market trends, policy developments, and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
- Maintain a strong understanding of project development lifecycles, financial and regulatory frameworks, and evolving M&A deal structures.
