Mission

At Zelestra, we are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team based in our Bogotá, Colombia office. The main mission of this role will be to coordinate and oversee accounting management in the country, in line with the established quality standards, and to prepare financial statements, reports, and other deliverables required for regulatory bodies, relevant stakeholders, and audit spaces, according to current legislation and Zelestra's guidelines. All of this, ensuring compliance with Colombian tax regulations in all the company’s accounting and fiscal activities. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the country's accounting activities, preparing reports, variance analyses, and bank reconciliations.
  • Develop the preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with accounting and regulatory standards, implementing internal control policies and procedures. Execute and analyze financial accounting operations.
  • Prepare and coordinate the management of SUI reports, ensuring the quality of information and compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise accounting related to EPC construction contracts, including the preparation of specific financial reports, cost control, and margin analysis.
  • Coordinate external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with local tax and financial regulations.
  • Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to enhance efficiency and quality standards, according to internal management indicators.
  • Prepare and coordinate local and corporate reporting required by internal and external stakeholders, such as the corporate Finance team, LATAM Management, among others.
  • Analyze and enhance ERP systems used locally, supporting change processes and implementation of improvements.
  • Advise internal clients of the Business Unit on accounting matters, sharing procedures and best practices to enhance the quality of management across LATAM.

Requirements

 

  • Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar accounting roles, preferably in sectors such as Engineering, Construction, and/or the electrical industry
  • Desirable experience in Renewable Energy companies
  • Knowledge of Colombian tax legislation
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Intermediate English (preferred)
