Mission

Zelestra is looking for a Junior Program Director to join our Chile office. The mission of this position will be to oversee a portfolio of renewable energy projects in Chile, focusing on PV + BESS technologies. This role involves driving project execution to optimize outcomes of each Project in alignment with Company goals, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with contracts and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary representative for the owner, ensuring the successful completion of projects and enhancing company value for shareholders.
  • Serve as the company's liaison with external stakeholders, including public institutions, local communities, landlords, lenders, and independent engineers. Manage and maintain these relationships effectively.
  • Oversee internal communications within Zelestra to ensure efficient coordination and successful project execution.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with client agreements under Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Guarantee that design and execution adhere to contractual requirements, environmental and social standards, and company policies.
  • Coordinate the signing and execution of major contracts, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, Supply Agreements, Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Agreements, Asset Management Services (AMS), Financial Agreements, and Development Agreements.
  • Organize and allocate necessary resources for project execution. Form and manage the project team, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and effective communication.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), taking necessary actions to ensure projects meet financial, time, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Develop and implement a Risk Management Plan. Continuously assess and update project risks and opportunities,and take actions to enhance overall project performance. Monitor the implementation and results of these actions.
  • Assume full responsibility for the project from handover at the advanced development stage until commercial operation.
  • Identify and implement improvements in project processes and provide feedback to other business areas on project performance and processes.
  • Collaborate with the planning division to develop and track project schedules, manage project floats, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Support the Finance team during financing and due diligence processes. Monitor financial progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to align with financial KPIs.

Requirements

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or similar academic background. 
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in project management, business, or executive management roles.
  • Verified experience in renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizing and leading multiple teams and departments.
  • Experience in planning and directing strategic initiatives.
  • Experience in business development, EPC construction, and/or project financing.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Consulting experience focused on operations management.
  • Proven success in project coordination roles.
  • High level of English and Spanish.
  • Class B driver’s license.
