LATAM Market Dispatch Manager

Mission

In Zelestra, we are looking for a Market Dispatch Manager LATAM based in Santiago. The mission of this role will be to lead the commercial operation strategy of the plants in the region, directing and controlling activities related to the market, with a focus on real-time operation and continuous process improvement. All of this aims to provide feedback for business decisions, ensure that dispatch operations align with the required commercial parameters, and contribute to increasing operational margins, in accordance with applicable regulations, commercial commitments, technical constraints of the assets, and established corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design commercial processes to ensure the proper dispatch of the plants.
• Propose an energy forecasting strategy for the plants.
• Report the generation schedule of the plants to the ISOs.
• Propose and promote cost and/or pricing declaration strategies, as applicable by market.
• Evaluate and advise on potential deviations in generation scheduling, as applicable by market.
• Supervise real-time operation from a commercial perspective and make adjustments to dispatches as needed.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of energy forecasting and provide signals for implementing improvements.
• Coordinate the economic operation of the plants.
• Ensure compliance with the correct application of applicable norms and regulations.
• Keep updated information required by the ISOs.
• Evaluate and validate daily generation reports.
• Coordinate and maintain effective communication with the plant operator and their supervisor(s) to ensure alignment and necessary support.
• Prepare real-time operation reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a focus on Electricity, or a related field.
• Postgraduate degree (desirable) in specialization or master’s in electric power markets, renewable energy, energy sustainability, power systems, or related fields.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in energy dispatch or control centers of generation plants.
• Knowledge in:
  • Regulation, operation, and market
  • Dispatch of power generation plants
• Availability to work in Santiago on a 4x3 shift schedule.
