LATAM Market Operations Specialist

Mission

At Zelestra, we are seeking a Transaction Specialist to join the Commercial team, based in Santiago or Bogotá. The primary mission of this role will be to coordinate and analyze information related to the company's portfolio of power plants and energy supply contracts in the region, ensuring information quality and regulatory compliance. The aim is to contribute to achieving the company’s commercial objectives and strategies, in accordance with regulations and corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and develop asset events with the region's ISOs.
• Analyze and verify market operations.
• Perform calculations and analysis of commercial transaction results and operations to validate correct application by the ISOs for the company's plants.
• Calculate energy and billing values for customers.
• Calculate backup capacity for energy sales and purchase operations in different markets.
• Coordinate energy market coverages and bilateral contracts.
• Analyze and propose opportunities to optimize the company's margin through short- and medium-term opportunities.
• Propose and design a data structure to monitor and validate market transactions and bilateral negotiations.
• Prepare periodic reports on the market operation of the plants.
• Analyze and coordinate the implementation of applicable rules and regulations affecting short-term market operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a focus on Electricity, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Postgraduate degree (desirable) in specialization or master’s in electric power markets, renewable energy, energy sustainability, power systems, or related fields.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in energy markets and operation of renewable energy plants.
• Knowledge in:
  • Regulation, operation, and market
  • Financial and market risks
