Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and versatile People (Human Resources – HR) Compliance Senior Manager to join our team! This role will be integral to our People team, providing support across multiple areas. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, administering leave, managing total rewards, improving our processes, and assisting with payroll. The ideal candidate will bring experience in leave administration, a strong understanding of employment laws, payroll, benefits and a continuous improvement mindset. Additionally, they should be adaptable, collaborative, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative team. 

Role Requirements

Minimal Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Proven experience in leave administration, employee relations, benefits and payroll.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Success Factors
  • Experience with ADP
  • Experience doing Human Resources in a start-up environment
  • Certifications: HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP), Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) 

Role Responsibility

  • Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all relevant state and federal employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination laws, and worker classification. Stay updated on legal changes and advise on necessary policy adjustments.
  • Leave Administration: Manage and administer employee leave requests, such as FMLA, parental leave, and other company-specific leave policies, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Payroll Assistance: Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, verification, and addressing employee payroll inquiries, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
  • Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits, to ensure compliance and employee satisfaction
  • Employee Relations: Address employee concerns and grievances, conduct investigations, and provide guidance on conflict resolution and disciplinary actions while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures to ensure a positive and compliant workplace environment. 
  • Assist with a wide range of HR functions, offering administrative and operational support across the department.

The salary for this position typically ranges from minimum to mid-point annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
